Our Targeted Impact

Capacity Development

Strengthening capacity of selected crop value chain households and cooperatives with women beneficiaries targeted to be 50%,30% youth and 20% men improved crop management, post-harvest and sustainable value chain marketing practices.

Improved Food Security

The project will help to increase the quantity and quality of food produced by smallholder farmers, reduce hunger and malnutrition in the project areas, and potentially beyond, by increasing the availability and accessibility of nutritious food.

Increased Income and Livelihoods

By adopting climate-smart agricultural practices, farmers will increase their yields, improve the quality of their crops, and reduce their production costs. This will lead to increased income and improved livelihoods for farmers and their families, which can in turn help to reduce poverty in the project areas.

Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation

The project will help to mitigate climate change by reducing greenhouse gas emissions from agriculture and sequestering carbon in soils. Additionally, these practices will help farmers adapt to the impacts of climate change by increasing their resilience to extreme weather events, such as droughts and floods.

Improved Soil Health and Biodiversity

The project will contribute to improve soil health by reducing soil erosion, increasing soil organic matter, and improving soil fertility. This can support the growth of healthy crops and improve biodiversity in the project areas.
